In the CommunityOne of the objectives if the 3FC is to have our enthusiastic and talented youth involved in the wider community. One of the ways we do this is to link up with St. Michaels Parish, running youth masses, to which the whole parish (and anyone outside the parish) are welcome to join in with. We generally follow the youth mass by a talent show, which parents, friends and visitors are welcome to stay for. We also run some other events to which everyone is invited. For example the treasure hunt in Worthing town centre was open to family and friends, and the bonfire night was open to all. The only thing we ask is that children under the age to join the group are accompanied by a responsible adult. We are also trying to get involved in charitable events. For Christmas 2006, the youth group decorate shoe boxes, and we then invited St. Michaels parish to fill the show boxes with goodies to send to Romania. The parish responded brilliantly, and we sent many more boxes than we had originally anticipated. Click here for a letter from Link Romania (the file is a bit big, so it may take a while to download on a slow link... sorry). In October 2004, Twenty one of use raised over £150 for charity at the Youthgather event
If you have any ides for getting involved in the wider community, post a note on the Cyber Cafe, or via e-mail and let us know! NB. Some documents are in PDF format, you might need the Adobe Acrobat Reader, available free from here
